This post is in partnership with Thymes. All opinions are my own.
It’s been just over 6 months since B & I moved into our house. We both previously lived with our parents before moving in together, so we had very minimal house things. It has been a process to get things together and feeling like a home. I wanted to have as much “done” (is it ever done?) before we hosted all of our friends over for a party!
I have a few tips for hosting a Housewarming or really any party!
- Choose a Fragrance throughout. Thymes helped me out with this one, I was able to have a few of their Frasier Fir Candles, and Lotion & Soap around the house during our party. Not only do these smell amazing, they look beautiful. I love that this Scent is fresh and clean for all year. Check out the whole Frasier Fir collection!
- Cook ahead of time. We served a pulled pork sandwich and side and I did my best to make all the food ahead of time. It was a serious lifesaver. I was able to enjoy the party rather than cooking.
- Get yourself ready first. This may seem silly, but if you’re dressed and ready when guests show up but still cooking no big. Serve them a beverage and continue. However, if your guests show up and your hair is still wet? You’re going to feel rushed and not yourself.
- Have a drink & relax. Glass of wine during prep? Yes, please. Hosting can be stressful, but let yourself have fun too.
