This post is in partnership with WeddingWire. All Opinions are my own.
Welcome to the First Wedding Wednesday on Book of Bri Blog! It’s been about 7 months since announcing our engagement here and on Instagram. The true reason I haven’t posted many things about our wedding is because we chose a unique venue that we were not able to chose a wedding date until later this year. BUT, this week we received confirmation that we have officially secured our top date! We could not be happier.
Today, I wanted to start out Wedding Wednesday with a chat about Social Media and Social Media Wedding Etiquette. Now, as a blogger, I love social media. Over the years, it’s helped me to grow my blog, meet new people, travel, and so much more. Social Media has also become huge in the Wedding Industry. Recently, I read something saying “I’m back for Jenn’s* wedding this weekend, but they don’t have a hashtag, so is it real?” Is it? IS IT? Just kidding.
Hashtags are such a fun extra touch to have for a wedding, but totally not required. My opinion on this one is, have it if you want, if you don’t done. That being said, if you have any creative ideas for Brady & Me, let me know. #BradyandBriSittingInATree Too Long?
Now you can enjoy a few photos of B & Me. These aren’t our engagement photos, just some pictures we took to share our big news on social media! 🙂
The second piece of Social Media I want to write about is Snapchat Filters. I think these are so fun. Recently, I had a couples shower and bachelorette party for a friend. I surprised the couple and made custom filters for both events. They were so happy and it so awesome to add that little something extra to the special days.
If you’re curious on how to make your own snapchat filter, it’s way easier that you think! There are tons of resources out there, WeddingWire has one of my favorite. All their designs are customizable and so adorable. I love that they partnered with a variety of other business to cover all styles — Vegas, Tuckernuck, Lilly Pulitzer, Paper Source. All the good ones 🙂 The other thing that is awesome about this tool is that it’s an all in one, choose design, customize, preview, and payment all in one! Try it out and let me know what you think!Lastly, I want to chat about Social Media at the Wedding Ceremony. This one can be touchy for a lot of people. Everyone is different with their preferences. The most important is to do what you and your partner are comfrotable with. Below I’ve created a little Do & Don’t Cheatsheet! Let me know your thoughts about what you did for your day or will be doing!
I’m not sure if this is going to be a weekly or bi-weekly series. Let me know what you think!
